Three days ago the earth did quake
a mighty terrible throe
as darkness loomed an eerie pall
and furious winds did blow

of nature’s unleashed fury spent
one moment fixed in time
I knew not then of what it meant
the significance divine

a man had died I have been told
who claimed to be a king
was crucified upon a cross
the shame that it did bring

buried three days inside a tomb
with guards both night and day
could not prevent what happened there
or explain it all away

I know these ones I see around
what power gives them life?

amazed and trembling fearful awe
what can this miracle be
what is the meaning of this sign
of what mine eyes do see

this king is truly King of Kings
I hear what people say
for He is the Messiah
who takes our sins away
